Lesson plan instructionThis year, I will use this blog to update daily lesson plan to let you know what we basically do everyday in the class with blue class and red class. These are lesson plans, so I might change something based on that day's conditions. However, I will try to stay on track everyday to keep my class organized and effective. Also, if I did not finish my plan for the former day, I will fix my lesson plan for the next day to finish all the content I plan to cover. If you have any concerns about what your kids are learning with me everyday, check here out! To keep my curriculum as a surprise for my kids everyday, I will update my lesson plan after I finished that day. [Note that the blue class plan is in blue and the red class lesson plan is in red.] Thanks for your cooperation! I do believe this will be an amazing year to teach your wonderful talented kids!!! Please Note: These lesson plans are all from my hard works, if you want to copy anything from them, I am happy to share with you but please inform me in advance! Thank you! week 1 thu, 8/22/2019

Biliteracy Unit PlanWith the trend that more and more students enter into U.S. schools speaking languages other than English, Teaching for biliteracy: strengthening bridges between languages (2013) describes, explains, and demonstrates for practitioners how to teach for biliteracy to benefit bilingual students based on their linguistic and cultural resources. Based on Biliteracy Unit Framework in this book, I have developed my Biliteracy unit plan in 3th Grade Chinese-English bilingual class.

Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) lesson planSIOP instruction gives strategies for teachers to teach ELLs in the classroom more effectively. Since this model is research-supported and currently one of the most effective ways to deliver teaching instruction and class language practice to English language learners, this model can also be used in Chinese immersion classes for Chinese language learners.

Translanguaging Unit PlanTranslanguaging classroom, different from traditional classroom settings, provides more flexibilities and space for students to literally develop their specific language knowledge and leverage their general language repertoire. In this unit plan, I have planed how to work closely with English teacher to teach 1st Grade Chinese DLI kids to learn about families and how to call family members. Especially, I introduce on purposely Chinese family member calling style. In my annotation plan, I explain how and why I design certain activities for kids.
